Vandara: Mother

Vandara is a wicked mother that treats children unexceptably. She plays a big role in Gathering Blue as Kira's enemy. She despised Kira and Katrina, which is her mother, and wanted the land Kira fought to live on. One day Vandara came to Kira for her land and Kira would not budge to give it to her, so Vandara threatened her with stones and other mothers. Vandara is ruthless because she wants what she wants and is willing to fight for it. Vandara wanted the land because shedid not like kids and she wanted to build a pen for them. Kira and Vandara went to trial over the conflict. Vandara thinking she would win, was disrespectful towards Kira. Vandara got the land, but Kira got to live in the Council of Guardians.

Kira: Weaver of Singer's Robe

 Kira is the main character of the story she plays the important role of the weaver of the Singer's robe. Kira is a young special orphin at about 13 or 12 years of age. she was always thought of as a useless child because of her twisted leg. Her mother died in the field because of a horrible illness. Kira only able to live because Kira's mom's dad worked in the Council of Guardians, so her life had a little leeway. After her mom had died their house was burned down, then Vandara a very cruel women wanted her land. Kira fought strongly and bravely. They went to trial and Vandara said a lot of cruel words about Kira. Vandara told her that she was useless and worthless because of her leg. She also proclaimed that she should have been taken to the field "that is the way." Jamison her defender, said mean things about her, but defended her in the end. Although, Kira didn't win the trial and her land she got to live in the Council of Guardians. She then in the very end Matt got her a blue cloth as a small "giftie" and told her the big "giftie" was on its way. Later Kira found the big "giftie" was her father. Then she found out the truth about Jamison and his motives.
